Glass Museum

glass museum
The Museum of Glass on the Tacoma, WA waterfront features glass art exhibitions from world famous artist Dale Chihuly. This glass museum sits inside a beautiful and unique structure integrated with select permanent exhibits such as the Chihuly Bridge of Glass. The live glass blowing demonstration in the center of the museum is my favorite installment and reason to keep returning to this beautiful structure. Visit on the third Thursday of each month between 5pm and 8pm for free admission! Regular adult admission is $10. If you make just one stop in Tacoma Washington this should be at the top of your list. For more information visit the official website at http://www.museumofglass.org/

Experience Music Project

experience music project
When the Experience Music Project opened in 2000 I had eagerly been waiting to visit! With such a strange but beautiful piece of architecture being built in my home city of Seattle there was no shortage of local onlookers and volunteers. Upon completion of Seattle's EMP I stepped inside to find myself in music lovers paradise. My favorite permanent exhibitions include the guitar gallery, "on stage" where you get to form your own rock band, and the awesome Sound Lab filled with instruments and other interactive music toys. The EMP is in the very fitting location of downtown rain city, since guitar legend Jimi Hendrix was born in Seattle, Washington.
